Calling Party Name Display

Is it possible to send an alpha name out with the DID# over a PRI?

You mean to a public destination? I doubt it

To a private destination - yes - it is done all the time thanks to the Alcatel ABC protocol (alcatel to alcatel system) or the universal QSIG protocol (any capable pair of systems).

No longer an issue. The local provider cannot process it even if I send it. Thanks to all!

Actually, the feature is possible in the OXE.
Let me know if you still need it, I'll check it out.

Actually, if you subscribe to the mailing list and ask for it, I'll be able to answer from the office :)

The only thing is that your carrier has to allow it.

Frank help me in this scenario........

I need to send the following details to the External called party.

"COMPANY 9942000000" Where "COMPANY" is the customer name and 9942000000 is the PRI pilot number.

It is just an example.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Waiting for your reply.

You can send "user name", not any name, over public ISDN - only if you will use ISVPN feature (calls over SD with call type ISVPN) - will be used "user to user signaling" for this.

Frank is right.
CNIP is available over T2(EDSS1) since, I think, Release 6. Name is sent with DISPLAY IE in SETUP message.
Check /System Documentation/User Services/Calling Name Presentation/Configuration/

Here is an example of o/g call trace:

Display IE PBX can send. But only as I understand - if in digital access decleared "Network mode=yes". So if we have connection with PTT really we cannot send name via CNIP feature.
