Cannot delete analog Z interface extension

I have a strange problem with one of our clients. Here it is:

There is a UA extension 8120 on address 3-25-14, which has an analog Z interface. On that interface, we created extension 8020, which is analog (running a modem). A few days ago, the modem stopped working. We tried connect a test butt to it and we got ‘please dial your extension number’. This was strange because the physical address was already given as 8020. However, we tried dialling 8020; but we got the busy tone.

Given we didn’t have much luck with the above, we tried deleting the analog extension. But this is the problem. We are getting ‘Terminal cannot be put out of order’. I have dissociated it from the main extension, but still cannot delete or Force delete. I have deleted the main extension but still cannot delete the sub-device (and this should not have been possible).

Does anyone have an idea about why its doing this and how i can go about deleting that extension.
thanks.

Reboot the system, if possible.

If this terminal (Z) was put out of service by dialing prefix for inserv/outserv, you can have a problem in the database.
A shutdown to reload the database in the memory can repare this state if your database is in a good state, but if this operation don't work, yous must open a SR to repair the database.
You can check the state of this set this cuser (only this select command) if you have a good experience of this tool.
