4070 IO IBS DECT BASESTATION PROBLEM ONSITE

Hi,

I have problem at a clients site where they have 13 IBS basestations running from a e-UA32 card. The whole card is programmed and used for Basestations leaving last 6 pairs 26 to 31 for 3 spare IBS stations ports for future use and testing purposes at pabx system tail.

I have 2 x basestations - 9 and 10 that do not work. Isolated with a new working Basetstation and still same thing. These used to work before and suddenly stopped working.

Issue with basestation number 9 is that it is INSERV for 5s and OUTSERV for about 15s. Red light flashes when in service and red light is solid. DECT sets lose and gain signal aswell. Tested a new basetstation and it works fine at the pabx system tail but does the same thing at basestation location which is about 200 meters away.
This basestation used to show 3 channels INSERV and after I checked the connections at location it changed to 6 channels and started acting in the inserv and outserv manner described above.

Results as below:

The error/incident message recieved is as follows:

ters 0 149 255 255

What could be wrong? Faulty cabling perhaps.

Issue with Basestation 10 is its dead which I believe is a cabling issue and will be looked at next time.

Any assistance/guidance to fix basestation 9 would be appreciated.

Thanks :D

I know such incident's but can't remember the solution :?

01/03/06 18:34:55 000001M|01/14/0/022|=5:3958=IBS operational

I think it was a wiring problem.

My action plan suggestion is:

Change the IBS 8 against 9 and 9 against 8.
Same IBS has the problem?
Replace IBS.

Same UA-Port has the problem?
Cable, eUA32 Hardware or Software or ACT problem.

Replace eUA32 card.
Same UA-Port has the problem?
Cable, or Software or ACT problem.

Connect IBS directly to ACT-Backplane.
Same UA-Port has the problem?
Software or ACT problem.

Move eUA32 card to another ACT slot.
Same UA-Port has the problem?
Software problem.

So you could try another IBS Firmware - I think the latest is 48.07

Is it a IOP Shelf?

Synchro okay?
infocs
dectinfo 3
dectview syncibs (let run some hours)

Maybe a trace can give an idea?
tuner km
trcterm n 1423
outserv n 1423
inserv n 1423

You could also try to manage UA sets on 1/17/16, 1/17/17, 1/17/18 and 1/17/19
Then try to connect and use them. Incoming call. Outgoing call.
(To prevent also wiring issues)

Did you tried to reboot the OXE?

No more ideas yet :)

Thanks heaps for your suggestion Elliot. I was able to fix the issue which was related to cabling in between the MDF - 2 x IDF and Basestation patch panel. Both up and running with 6 channels. Site had messy cabling. Good to learn some new commands just incase I stumble upon another IBS issue.

Regards.
