802.3ad

Hello,

We are trying to configure 802.3ad (Link agg) on an alcatel 6850 so that we can take advantage of two NIC's on a server. As the current set up stands, we can get this working on a Cisco 2960 so we know there isn't a problem with our server set up. However Wireshark packet captures are showing the switch trying to dynamicly link aggregate using LACP. Is anyone aware of how to set static link aggregation on this switch?

Thanks

If you want 802.3ad you want LACP...

Static link aggregation is not 802.3ad.

Try static agg etc. (its written in the user manual, follow the link in my signature)

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/802.3ad. We have discovered the switch will aggregate links once LACP is disabled and another 802.3ad device is connected.
