Hello all

I've at my work a A4400.

This week a user, disconnected his digital phone (4034) and tried to connect a analog modem to the plug as result the phone now doesn't work, it's out of service.

I did the "listout set" command, and the equipment appears there with only one out of service flag, 'A', wich means "waiting implementation".

And the flag should be 'A' and 'U'(wich means out of service because cable not connected)

I've tried the following commands and so far nothing
commands:
- reinit
- rstcp
- outserv
- inserv
- termstat + reset device

i've also reboot the machine...

Please help me
Thanks

Yes, the set is OK.

Someone has told me to delete the directory number and to create it again. I've tried but so far i achieve nothing.

Thanks

Did you tried to delete the set on this EXACT port, and recreate another one different ? (Analog, 4020) ?

If it's still doesn't work, then I would say that the port on the board is dead

Yes, i deleted the set on the exact port and recreated another one.

I've talked to Alcatel and i'm waiting for the Alcatel people to assist me. I've start to think that might be software malfunction, because it's very, very old:
Chorus version : v11.7/1.6
Delivery software version : a9.544
Software Version Name : R1.4.1

After i know the answer i will post it here.

Thank for the help

Did you try putting the set on 255,255,255?
then unplug the cable/set and put it back in service?

Maybe you can pull the UA board out and back in or swap with anotherone just to check if the port is really dead.

How you can find problem - connect phone to another port - if works - Phone OK.
Plug in this place another UA board - if port works - database OK.
Plug previous board - if port not works - port physicaly not OK.

Sorry for the delay.

It was no software problem, like i tought it was, this time :)

The technician went there and the problem was the port it is physicaly dead.

He swap ports and everything is ok now.

Thanks to everybody for the help.
