Hot restart vs cold restart

Hello all,

I have a little experience with alcatel products and it was many years ago.
I'm trying to help a friend who has an oxo connect PBX and the installer is no more in activity.
I have read the expert doc and I still have doubts about the differences between hot and cold restart.
Specially about data that are lost and kept after restart, like : configuration, licence keys, system files ...etc.

Also if there is a difference between cold restart using OMC and power button on CPU unit.

Finally, I'd like to know if data saving using OMC includes licence keys and passwords or if there is a way to save licence keys separatly in order to reset entire system without losing licence keys.

Can any one explain in details.

Thanks for your help

Power button on CPU unit - just start and stop PBX.
Cold restart - restart with empty (default) database. Default passwords, default tables.

Thanks for your answer,

So power Off and On using power button is same as hot restart ?

What about licence keys with cold restart, are they lost ?

Regards.

Hello,

Is power Off and On using power button is same as hot restart ?

Are licence keys saved with database saving using OMC or is there a way to save them separately, and are those licence keys lost with cold restart ?

Thanks for your answers.
