OXE / ALE 400 - How to know who is on the phone with whom
Posted: 15 Oct 2024 12:07
Maybe here I have more luck.
I wanted just to ask because I'm not a phone technician and I am looking for a second opinion.
We have Ale-400 phones with OmniPCX Enteprise PBX.
As the title says, our need is, with ALE-400 phone and by pressing the specific supervisor extension key on the attached module, to know who is on the phone with whom.
For instance, I am the telephone operator (the "attendant") and I am asked by my boss to tell him with whom John is on the phone because he need to talk to him but he results busy. If I have the supervisor key for John properly configured, am I able to tell my boss this information?
Earlier, with Aastra Matra PBX we could get this info by pressing the supervisor key of the specific extension on the attendant telephone; on the display was shown the number of the person who was on the phone with him/her.
Our business partner that recently installed this new PBX told us that it is no longer possible nowadays.
Frankly I doubt.
I don't know technically in the phone world how is it called this specific feature/service.
Is it possible to set it up or not?
Thank you.
Francesco
