Is it possible to Stack two 6860N-U28 without using the VFL Ports 29+30 ?
They are in different Rooms and a Fiber Connection between them is needed.

Re: OS6860N-U28 Virtual Chassis
yes, you can use any sfp port with at least 10G (via fibre or TAC). You have to configure the vfl ports by yourself.

Hallo Sylvio,
das haben Carsten und ich getestet allerdings ohne Erfolg.
Mit speziellen sfp`s für die VFL Ports (aus Cicsco Beständen) hat es dann an den VFL Ports funktioniert.

Hi, so at the end it works? But normaly you don't need a special sfp. Maybe with the other sfp+ the link didn't come up? In my knowledge you can configure any 10G fibre port as VFL. This is indepentend from the used sfp - it has to be supported with the switch (and used port).

Re: OS6860N-U28 Virtual Chassis
Hi,
This is how it was set up on the previous switches "OS6860E-U28".
The "6860N-U28" did not allow this.
The error message Ports not suitable is output here.
Best regards
Andreas

Re: OS6860N-U28 Virtual Chassis
Hi Andy,
I am sure this isn't a hardware issue. So it will be a good idea to factory reset (delete all cfg-files), load the software again, check uboot and fpga.

Hi Andreas,
you are correct. I haven't read your post correctly. The "old" 6860 (without "N") and the new 6860N can not be used in one VC.
