NTP Configuration

Post by pdsgomes »

Hey,

I have a OS6860E-U28 which is recieves the hour from an NTP server.

My ideia is, that server (OS6860E-U28) act as NTP server for other OS6250-P24 switch's, s´this is my config:

on OS6860E-U28:

SW_B06-1_Core-> show ntp server status
IP address = 1.1.1.1,
Host mode = client,
Peer mode = server,
Prefer = no,
Version = 4,
Key = 0,
Stratum = 16,
Last Error = bogus packet received,
Minpoll = 6 (64 seconds),
Maxpoll = 10 (1024 seconds),
Delay = 0.001 seconds,
Offset = 0.076 seconds,
Dispersion = 0.976 seconds
Root distance = 0.000,
Precision = -22,
Reference IP = 127.0.0.1,
Status = configured : reachable : rejected,
Uptime count = 29676306 seconds,
Reachability = e0,
Unreachable count = 5,
Stats reset count = 29673129 seconds,
Packets sent = 11,
Packets received = 44,
Duplicate packets = 0,
Bogus origin = 0,
Bad authentication = 0,
Bad dispersion = 0,
Last Event = peer changed to reachable,

On the OS6860E-U28:

SW_B02-1-> show ntp server status
IP address = 172.19.99.254, (this is the ip of OS6860E-U28)
Host mode = client,
Peer mode = unspec,
Prefer = no,
Version = 4,
Key = 0,
Stratum = 16,
Last Error = peer clock unsynchronized, root delay, dispersion bounds check,
Minpoll = 6 (64 seconds),
Maxpoll = 10 (1024 seconds),
Delay = 0.000 seconds,
Offset = 0.000 seconds,
Dispersion = 0.000 seconds
Root distance = 0.000,
Precision = -6,
Reference IP = 0.0.0.0,
Status = configured : rejected,
Uptime count = 1976 seconds,
Reachability = 0,
Unreachable count = 3,
Stats reset count = 432 seconds,
Packets sent = 20,
Packets received = 20,
Duplicate packets = 0,
Bogus origin = 0,
Bad authentication = 0,
Bad dispersion = 0,

At the NTP-Server (the U28) you don't need any special config. It needs only to get the time from a "good" ntp source. This does not work at your switch. I do not see your config from both the switches.

Please put the commands (all switches):
show configuration snapshot ntp
show ntp status
show ntp server status

and from the U28:
show ntp server client-list
