Differences between OXE and OXO

Post by Smillar49 »

Wondering if someone can help as not been able to find this information readily available on the web.

I have a lab OXO connect system which I am attempting to export some data from for a project, in the past I have been provided with CSV files but not told if these were exported from OXO or OXE.

I believe that CSV files can only be exported from the 4760 or 8770 tools is this correct and what is the difference between OXE and OXO at a high level?

Also, can the Omnivista 4760 or 8770 tools be used to manage OXO or are they for OXE only?

The OXO Connect station is managed by the OMC program. Accordingly, there is also a tool for importing and exporting csv files. The OmniVista program emulates OMC.

4760 is the old software to manage the OmniPCX, later called OmniPCX Enterprise (OXE).
The 8770 is the newer version of 4760. Both of those softwares are for the OmniPCX Enterprise (OXE).

That's right, the 4760 and 8770 are mainly designed for OXE, but OXO can also be controlled if desired. This follows from Actis.
