Alcatel OSPF configuration questions

Post by UP82 »

Hello everyone,
i'd like to understand how the OSPF should be configured on Alcatel Omniswitch as i didn't find all the answer on the manual
Imagine the following scenario where the two L3 Switches need to exchange their networks

Sw1------trunk--------Sw2

where in Sw1:
- if vlan 10 192.168.10.1/24
- if vlan 20 192.168.20.1/24
- if vlan 99 10.0.0.1/24 (for OSPF)

and in Sw2
- if vlan 30 192.168.30.1/24
- if vlan 40 192.168.40.1/24
- if vlan 99 10.0.0.2/24 (for OSPF)

My questions are the following:
- Are all networks advertised simply by enabling OSPF process on interface 99? in Cisco i need to enable on every interface that needs to partecipate
- From manual "Assign ports to the VLANs. The physical ports participating in the OSPF network must be assigned to
the created VLANs. " . Need to pass the VLAN 99 on the trunk ?

Can please anyone write the correct piece of configuration for OSPF?

thanks a lot

You have two choices.
1) you can activate OSPF at all ip-interfaces. But than the switch tries to find there an ospf neighbor. So you should set the hello timer there to 0. This is a passive interface.
2) Or you use redistribution all your local interfaces (or can filter them via a route-map).into ospf.
