PoE does not work on a port
PoE does not work on a port
Hello,
I have a problem concerning the PoE of my switch 6350-P48 on 1 port only.
In order to understand better, on this port there is an Alcatel IP station, this IP station is connected to a docking station which also delivers PoE. The station uses the PoE of the docking station first and not the switch.
The problem is that when the docking station is unplugged, the phone shuts down, before getting the PoE from the switch. I would like the switch and only the switch to deliver PoE to my IP phone.
I tried to increase the priority to "High" then "Critical", change the power to maximum, nothing works.
Would you have an idea?
Thanks in advance for your answers,
Zepeki

Re: PoE does not work on a port
So connect the IP Phone directly to the switch, problem solved.
In case this is not an option, I'm having big troubles understanding what you're doing there.

Re: PoE does not work on a port
The phone is already connected to the switch. It is connected to the switch via the "LAN" connector and then to a docking station via the "PC" connector which also delivers PoE.
Re: PoE does not work on a port
When I unplug the docking station, my IP phone turns off. So I would like to prioritize the PoE of the switch. I have to chain my phone with my PC because I only have one network socket.

Hi,
In all the IP phones from ALE that i am aware of, their power over eth is done on the LAN port, not on the PC port.

Re: PoE does not work on a port
Theres is no option to turn off PoE delivery on the Docking Station? I'd check if this does anything.
Re: PoE does not work on a port
SADIM: However, the docking station is connected to the "PC" port of the IP8068s phone and as soon as the cable connected to the "PC" port is disconnected, the IP phone reboot and switch to the PoE Switch.
Gleylancer: I will see if the PoE can be disabled on the docking station

Re: PoE does not work on a port
POE on PC port besides does not make any sense at all, it is not supported
Re: PoE does not work on a port
As far as I am concerned, it is the usb c connected to the docking station that generates the PoE .
