can't execute 'sendmail' for user root ?

Post by Perceval »

(Setup : Oxo Connect R2.2/053.001, I don't know if there's a licence to send mails)

Hi everybody,
I've been trying to get notifications by mail when someone's calling or leaving a message. Everything looks fine in OXO Connect (Global Services, Global Services on the specified phone, SMTP setup...) but it did never work. When I setup the voicemail sent by mail, the caller can't anymore use the voicemail (it crashes few seconds later, with a voice telling the recording failed, just like if the caller didn't say a word).

On the logs, I just get a long list of this (the crond Id is always different) :

Nov 16 04:30:11 (none) crond[7793]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 05:00:11 (none) crond[9932]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 05:30:11 (none) crond[12119]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root

Nov 16 06:30:11 (none) crond[16476]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 07:30:11 (none) crond[20793]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 08:00:11 (none) crond[22929]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root

Nov 16 10:30:11 (none) crond[1292]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 11:00:11 (none) crond[3493]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 11:30:11 (none) crond[5764]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 12:00:11 (none) crond[7980]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 12:30:11 (none) crond[10197]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 13:00:11 (none) crond[12333]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 13:30:11 (none) crond[14515]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root
Nov 16 14:00:11 (none) crond[16656]: can't execute 'sendmail' for user root

I've been trying with 2 different mailboxes (one from my mail provider, then I tested Google [with an application password, everyhting is unlocked here as I use some other devices not compliant with the latest Google security measures]), and I just get this error, I can't find anything else.

Is there something I can do to investigate and solve this issue ?

Thanks :)
