I have a PBX Alcatel OmniPCX OXE Enterprise 4400 with IP Touch 4038 phones, due to the fact that they are old phones we would like to replace them for the 8038, but I have to upgrade to the PBX. which brings up the total cost, so I wanted to know if it was possible to connect phones from other brands like Yealink, Gigaset, etc. that probably cost less.
1000 thanks.

4038 - IP phones from Alcatel. With this phones - you can use all feature - text messages (in different language), access to the prefixes/suffixes, multiline, boss&secretary, supervision etc.
You can use phones fron other brands - if you have SIP licenses and you will have less functionality.

Correct me if I'm wrong please, the default protocol used by PBX Alcatel is NOE, so the IP Touch 4038 are connected via this protocol to the PBX, if I use other brands as they do not use NOE must use SIP but I have to buy the license on the PBX, is right? however, I will have less functionality as you say. I'm interested in phones that can log in to a group.

4038 old? Well...maybe in design but are not old...they are quite good in features and hardware specs. What do you get in a 8038 that you don't already in a 4038?
There must be a valid justification for an upgrade rather than just design.
If you are willing to pay for design means that you are a business that values the looks for your users, so maybe you are a hotel? If so, the cost of an upgrade for better looking on guests rooms is payable in a mid term

For old phone, (in my case) I wanted to say that since they are used 24/7 for about 10 years, they are now worn out, with the number of faded keys, broken displays, etc.

Online I find more refurbished... but you say that 4038 is better than 8038? I mainly need the operator to log in to a group, there are no particular functions to use
