have you read the post titled "password 6850" in the OmniSwitch 6850 section, operador posted a reply relating to Alcatel OS (AOS). This is relativeloy generic depending upon software release so its worth trying the method he suggests.

Unfortunatley I have never had to recover passwords for Alcatel gear so I dont know, dont wish to sware but if it were a cisco router/ switch I could help you.

Good Luck

Thanks for your reply

I tried omniswitch 6850 methods for password recovery. But I failed to clear the password. There is no option for PRESS ANY KEY TO STOP AUTO BOOT in alcatel 6602 model.

Any other option for clearning password in Alcatel 6602 model

Thanks

You may be out of luck, this is straight from the GSG.

Note. Be sure to remember or securely record all new
passwords; overriding configured passwords on
OmniSwitch 6600 Family switches is restricted.

You will probably have to reset it to factory defaults.

Hi, what are you using for your console session? hyperterminal? terraterm?.

During boot, you may have to issue a break sequence [break] or [ctrl][break] for XP/2000/98 when using hyperterminal or [alt] from terraterm.

Not sure if this will help and appologies if you have already tried this.

The procedure is to change a strap in the 6600, break the boot sequence, change the register setting, then move into the "system" directory, and delete the usertable3/4/5 file, which is where the passwords are stored. If anyone still wants the proc, I can post it

Instead of changing the jumper an alternate method would be:
  • Remove the cover from the unit.
Remove the Compact flash module from the board and put it into a Compact Flash reader. (DOS File system)
    Delete the file(s) "userTable3" / "userTable4" / "userTable5" from the directory "/network".
Put the Compact Flash module back into the OmniSwitch (66xx).
    Restart the OmniSwitch (66xx).
Login with the factory default. ("admin" / "password")
Worked great on a 6600-P24.

Of course I should warn you to be careful when putting the Compact Flash back into the slot. The long ground pin on the left hand side (when facing the front of the unit) is easy to bend. I suspect Alcatel didn't spend more than the absolute minimum on the CF sockets. But that is apparent when you look at the arraignment of the socket on the 6600-P24 (and others).
