4049 PAC beep on delayed ring problem

Hi everyone,

I need some help

We have a customer who has just been upgraded from 4.2UX to 8.0LX.

They have 5 x 4049 PAC.

Every PAC is configured with Delayed ring with Beep. Also, all are in one Attendant Grp and the ring pattern is 'Parallel'. ALSO, the customer has Auto Answer enabled on each 4049.

Now, the customer is telling me that before the upgrade, every PAC used to beep as soon as a call arrived and the call would be put through to the headset of the Attendant that has been idle the longest.

What is actually happening on site is that the Beep only comes when he call is put through to the headset, but while it is waiting all Attendants can see it but not hear a beep.

I think it is a strange set up personally. Also, when they walk away from there position, each operator presses the space bar to make the position busy so calls do not come through automatically. This is also wrong practice I think.

Anyway, how can I get each and every console to beep when a call arrives?

TIA

Mmh. I've escalated something similar. My customer don't want a beep...

From R6.0.1 f1.603.1.aj Alcatel-Lucent created a new Timer 345 - TEMPO_ATTENDANT_NOISE_USA
to change the beep behavior. To activate the feature the Timer 345 must be > 1.

From R7.1 f5.401.13 the feature should work too.

So your problem could be related to XTSce52081 / XTSce65246.
My suggestion: Ask Alcatel-Lucent, if Timer 345 doesn't help...

I went to site and had a look - this parameter was already set to '1'. :(

Time for eSR I think

But 1 is not >1.

Changes the behavior with value 2?

I just followed these instructions.

Sometimes, changing those unknown timers can be very disastrous. So for now I will let it run with eSR. Thanks for the advice though Eliott. Always welcome from you :D
