i'm planning an upgrade of our 7705 SAR-18 router OS from Rel 5.0 to Rel 8.0 as well as installing a new card (1 PORT 10GE / 10 PORT 1GE 10G-CARD V2) Nokia Part # 3HE06153AC

Do i need to upgrade our 5620 SAM application as well?? Right now we're running Rel 10 on SAM Server

For that big a jump in major releases you will most definitely need to upgrade your SAM to support the newer software release for the SAR. SAM 10 does not recognize SAR R8 software.
