6850 - Linksys switch always blocking

Post by QtropMike »

Ive been away from the 6850 for a couple years but am wanting to place this one back int eh loop as a standby router config

Simople setup right now one port plugged in 1/1 to a linksys srw2024 but it continully sets that port to blocked. If I disable stp its happy
I seem to remember some old issues with cisco 6509 and stp but any suggestions thanks

You should somewhere drop a question, which makes it much easier to understand.

What STP is is running on the linksys?
I would feel uneasy with STP disabled.
Set Both the Linksys and the Alcatel to RSTP (and not 1x1) and they should behave well (as long as you do not have a second cable between Linksys and Alcatel)

Morning
Turning it off was only a testing solution , The linksys switches have been in place for 3 years now and were all single purpose switches. Never really looked much at them. I moving them their functions over to teh 6850 hence the need for thecross connects now.
Anyway I had never noticed that the Linksys switches default to no STP and hadnt thought to even check it
So yes you guessed it its working fine now
thanks
Mike
