Connecting the E&M interface

Hi;
I would like to use the E&M interface to connect two lmr base-station back to back. I have configured the E&M card to use type 5. Do I need to connect the SB and SG pin to the power supply and ground if I have configured type 5. I understand that type 5 does not use this pins
