Media Server over VLANs/Subnets

Hi all,

I've a problem in my network.

Theres a seperate VLAN for media devices.
Some servers on a different VLAN are running media servers.

If i want to "autodiscover" a media server using a tv, it cant find a media server.

The servers are all on a 6450. the media devices are on other 6450.
All switches are connected using fiber.

Is there any way to "autodiscover" the servers?

Best regards,
Kai

How works the autodiscover? is it multicast? Multicast is only in same vlan. For MC-traffic between different vlans you need MC-routing (like DVMRP). This protocoll has to activate at the gateway (L3-Switch - but not 6450).
