Well good luck. You changed something only you know what. Now you have a 500 error...which as indicates you must check logs.
We have no magic balls available for now

Thank you for all your help can I ask two more questions
The only thing changed was under Domain controller
we had to change it to ad-dc1.csd.centennialsd.org
the old domain controller is off line it was csddc01.csd.cenrennialsd.org
can we user an IP address instead of a FQDN
Where can I find Apache Tomcat/5.5.23 logs

I know the "only" thing that changed was the name, but you have to know that Tomcat installed modifies internal files according to that name. That is why I suggested a clean reinstall with new name.
You must use FQDN because is a requirement. Also in that way you can change IP address with out these issues.
Reinstall will be the fastest method. Takes nothing. Make a user backup only.
