PC MMC on Wndows 8

Hello to everyone.I've just bought a laptop with windows 8 64 bit.I am trying to load the pc mmc program for the alcatel 4200E but it does not work.I can't open the launcer set up exe file in order to start the installation.It tells me that "can't run on this pc".What should i do? Please help me. Thank you very much in advance.

Build a VM with XP, map your serial-adapter to VM and enjoy! No chance on Win 7 or 8.

Download and install VMware player or Virtual box, create virtual PC, install XP in VM, install PCMMC. If you have physical serial port on laptop you can assign it to VM. Or you use USB-serial-adaptor.

Apart from vmware player, do you try the pc mmc program on windows 8?Did you face the same problem with me?

I doubt ALU has support for such tool on Windows 8...that is why you always have to check first if the software is compatible. Try to play a Win95 software on a Windows 8...will it work? 80% chances are that it won't... Same here. Software developer has to adjust to OS and more work to do in case of W8 as it has a new design like Metro....
