Auto Attendant Direct Extension Dial

Apologies if this is in the wrong topic but I was only able to find a slight reference to someone being able to do this in another post in this topic. I believe this should be something very simple, but for our Auto attendant, we currently have to press a key (9 in our case) before dialing someone's extension. We list that shortly within the Attendant message but people dial the extension before that point or don't pay attention to it. I assume there is a way to just allow a caller to dial the extension as soon as the attendant picks up and if so, how? Our local support has said it's not possible. In the end all we want is Welcome to company, if you know your extension you may dial it anytime, For Accounting press 1, for shipping press 2, etc, etc.
