I wonder if there's any document that defines the DHCP options to be configured (i'm using VitalQIP Server) for the following scenarios:

- IPTouch 4068, 4038 in NOE Mode (for OXE)
- MyIC Phone 8082 and 4018 in SIP Mode (for OpenTouch)

Solution for IP-Touch 40x8:

Use Vendor Specific Information (option 43) sub options (58) to provide VLAN to the IPTouch. (66) for TFTP-Server. (67) for the configfile <lanpbx.cfg>


How to configure a windows DHCP server:

- New vendor Class Identifier "IPTouch":

1. IPv4: right click -

Define Vendor Classes => alcatel.noe.0


2. IPv4: right click -

2.1. Set Predefined Options => 058 VLAN (you only need when the phone should youse a diferent voice-VLAN)

- Name of the Option: "Alcatel IP-Touch VLAN"
- Datatype: Byte and check the field "Array"
- Code: "58"
- Description: "Alcatel IP-Touch VLAN"

Configure the option for VLAN (example VLAN 150)
first row in Hex: 0x0
second row in Hex: 0x96

2.2. Set Predefined Options => 066 TFTP-Server

- Name of the Option: "Alcatel IP-Touch TFTP-Server"
- Datatype: String and DON'T check the field "Array"
- Code: "66"
- Description: "Alcatel IP-Touch TFTP-Server"

Configure the option for TFTP Server
IP-Adress of the TFTP-Server (example: 10.1.50.4)

2.3. Set Predefined Options => 067 config file "lanpbx.cfg"

- Name of the Option: "Alcatel IP-Touch <lanpbx.cfg>"
- Datatype: String and DON'T check the field "Array"
- Code: "67"
- Description: "Alcatel IP-Touch <lanpbx.cfg>"

Configure the option for TFTP Server
name of the config file: lanpbx.cfg


- Include these sub options in the scope

Only the option 58 (only needed in using different VLANS) ist set in the client-scope.

The option 66 and 67 are needed in the scope where the phones are should work.



For Example: client-scope 10.1.10.0/24 voice-VLAN 150 scope: 10.1.50.0/24

In the client-scope:
Scope Options: right click - Configure Options - Advanced - Vendor Class - "IPTouch" - 058

In the phone-scope:
Scope Options: right click - Configure Options - Advanced - Vendor Class - "IPTouch" - 066 and 067


It works really so I have configure our Win 2003 DHCP, Win 2008 DHCP and Win 2012 DHCP

isn't code 58 "renewal time"?

it looks like code 58 is vendor specific from alcatel as per doc. can't they choose a different number?

just to avoid confusion cav for (non alcatel) network engineers who always argues with voice guys.

Show them and leave the documentation so they don't get confused...that is it. If Alcatel asks to be that way and doesn't conflict with nothing else then why they would argue...

So far I have tested your DHCP implementation, it works but...

1. I have created the vendor class "alcatel.noe.0", OK

2.1. I have created the option 58 with the number of my Voice Vlan in HEX, OK

2.2. I have configured option 66 with the IP of my PBX Server, but the phone cannot found the TFTP Server. Sniffing the trafic with Wireshark told me that option 43 suboption 66 is in error. Looking forward, it seems that DHCP server encapsulate the option 43 in another option 43, before suboption 66. Sound very strange to me, what at the end don't work.

2.3 I have created option 67 with my config file but I can't leave it blank, doesn't matter, OK

At the end, I follow your instruction for point 1 and 2.1. For option 66 and 67, I just configure the "standard" and it works.

Sound like a bug or from Microsoft DHCP or from Alcatel.

I am trying to configure a Windows 2008 DHCP server for one of our clients. Their Voice vlan is 16.

The Alcatel IP touch IP phones registers with the PBX if I statically configure "USE VLAN : 16" and gets IP from the DHCP server. If I remove that it will get an IP from the untagged Vlan, which is the Data Vlan.
Is there a way that i can provide the VLAN too through DHCP.

I tried the first solution which didnt work for me, and then I tried what olivierpaudex did above and it worked except that i still have to give the USE VLAN : 16 statically.
#I follow your instruction for point 1 and 2.1. For option 66 and 67, I just configure the "standard" and it works.

The DHCP user class on the phone says "iptouch.class.0".
Is it any way related to the vendor class we configured on the DHCP server?

We are trying to implement Netlogin with an NPS server. The Vlan gets dynamically assigned to the port if the MAC address gets authenticated. But if I statically assign "USE VLAN", the phone will not authenticate with the NPS server.

Please help.
