MyInstantCommunicator and Windows Domain Problem

Post by bytebender »

Hi everybody,

we have problems to install/run all components from MyIC in our Windows Domain.

On accounts with admin rights there are no problems to install MyIC + Teamwork Standby Timer.

But on normal user accounts MyTeamwork Standby Timer doesn't install because of missing rights on System folders. The Standby Timer downloads files to "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files". For this folder normal users have no rights.

Is there a way to fix this problem?!

You should install as administrator and run the installer as administrator. then the software will be owned by administrator and be run as such later with any other account

Thats clear.

MyIC installs complete, but after first start it want to install the Standby Timer (ActiveX). If a normal user starts the MyIC the first time (in case of 95%), then it runs in errors, because the user have no write permissions on system folders.
