Hi all together,

Does anyone know the life cycle (end-of-sales, end-of-life,...) for OmniSwitch 6850 and OmniSwitch 9600?

Thanks in advice,
Alex.

Hi Alex,

Alcatel-Lucent announced EOS (End of Sales) for OS6850 and OS9000 in May 2012.

OS9000 is being replaced by OmniSwitch 9000E, OmniSwitch 6900 and OmniSwitch 10K for 1GigE and 10GigE products.
OS6850 is being replaced by the OmniSwitch 6850E that offers better functionality, and higher capacity at lower price levels.
The replacement products are already available for ordering in the world wide price list and have been shipping for some time.

Final orders are accepted through 31st of October and 1st of February 2013 respectively.

EOL (End of Life) is two years after EOS.

I should mention that the OS6850E is fully backward-compatible to the OS6850 hence you can expand installed-base stacks on customer site without any issue.
