Problem communication with GD-3 and CS-2

Post by 20deoctubre »

I can't make GD-3 and CS-2 communicate each other. I was running some tests with some olds OPSs when this problem began.
typing config 0, I can see that the info for CS-2 is "NO PCMS CODE"
and if I try to program the ethernet parameters for GD-3, the system returns me an error message telling me that I'm trying to make an invalid operation.
These are my logs from incvisu:

Hi 20deoctubre

Maybe I am writing stupid things, but the incidents don't show any information about the connection of the GD3 with CS2.
NO PCMS CODE"
It shows this way to me too with a CS-2 I have installed.
and if I try to program the ethernet parameters for GD-3, the system returns me an error message telling me that I'm trying to make an invalid operation
What parameter are you trying to change? You must change just BOARD ETHERNET ADDRESS (GD3 MAC) in ethernet parameters. IP addresses of GD3 you must change in its own setting with serial port.

I don't know if you knew these informations, but I posted anyway.

Hi...
Well, I have configured the ethernet parameters of GD-3 through it's console port as you said. What I'm trying to do, is to configure de GD-3 parameters of GD-3 on iCS-2, so they can communicate (if I type config 2, the GD-3 is shown as not initialized) I mean the MAC address, etc.

I think my problem it's something related to an erased file or something, because I have seen an error on the boot process of GD-3, saying something abaout an error while downloading the "binmg3".

Downloading /DHS3bin/downbin/mg3/binmg3 from 11.11.11.1
/etc/rc.d/init.d/binipmg_download: download_binary binmg3 failed

/etc/rc.d/init.d/binipmg_download: download of binmg3 failed: file not found on server or bad transfer or file corrupted
/etc/rc.d/init.d/binipmg_download: sleeping 5s then retrying...

Note that the last log it's from the GD-3

Hi

OK.
Downloading /DHS3bin/downbin/mg3/binmg3 from 11.11.11.1
/etc/rc.d/init.d/binipmg_download: download_binary binmg3 failed

/etc/rc.d/init.d/binipmg_download: download of binmg3 failed: file not found on server or bad transfer or file corrupted
/etc/rc.d/init.d/binipmg_download: sleeping 5s then retrying...
Yes, these traces show us that GD3 couldn't download the files from CS due to some reason. It can either be LAN or corrupted file as you told.
Is the system running at the customer? if it is easy, you could install CS2 software again.

I hope to help you.

No it's just for LAB.

Well, I have fixed the error, I had to upload an open OPSs that I have from a basic training course. It seems that my original OPSs are damaged.

Can you tell me how could I look information about the procedure of installinf the cs2 software again please ? It will be very useful for me

Thanks for your time
