AIS and intermittently with 64K errors in new PCM2
Gents, why am I experiencing AIS and intermittent 64K errors flashing when I plug-in my new PCM2 card into my rack ? Any problems with my settings ? Thank you.

When you plug OLD board - no problem? Compare strapping on the board.

Re: AIS and intermittently with 64K errors in new PCM2
Thank you, Master Vad, we have compared the strappings, they are the same on the old and new boards. The new boards have been tested fine on another shelf. But what errors could be causing the AIS light, and the 64K light to flash ?
Are there any soft settings on the PCM2 board ?

Yes, for PCM2 board you have soft on the board (EPROM). You can compare EPROM reference (as I remember reference written on the EPROM).
64K - may be some problem with fraiming.
AIS - remote site indicate about problem in your signal.

Re: AIS and intermittently with 64K errors in new PCM2
Pardon the late reply, upon receiving your advice, we have looked closely at the EPROM indications on the old and new boards - they are exactly the same with each other.
AIS means remote site indicates problems with my signals, but with the old board, there is no problem. Is there is a problem with my signals, it should show a CRC check instead of a hard-on AIS error, isn't it so ?
Furthermore, all the three new cards show this error, it couldn't be that all the three new cards are failing together ?

Re: AIS and intermittently with 64K errors in new PCM2
Gents, I have plugged-in another new board which has been tested fine in another rack, compared all the strappings between the old card and the new card and mathed ALL the strappings. EPROM levels are the same on both cards too.
Again I am getting the AIS and 64K lights coming up on my new board. This is the 4th PCM2 card having this problem.
How can I check if there is a compatibility issue here ? Please help, and thank you in advance.

Well, maybe time to change - a slot in ACT cabinet and cables?

Thank you. But if slot or cable problems, then why are their current boards working perfectly in the rack ?
