Hello everybody,
I am sorry I am new with Alcatel Switch and I need your advice. My client has two distribution cisco 6509 switches which I need to interconnect with two 6850 Alcatel switches working as access switches.
What I have read on Alcatel's network configuration guide is that in order to achieve interoperability between rapid-pvst (on Cisco) I have to enable the pvst+ feature on Alcatel switches.
However, the current software -on Alcatel's switches- does not support this feature. Is there any chance to achieve interoperability between cisco-alcatel switches without going to a software upgrade? Has anyone tried cisco rapid-pvst and perhaps alcatel mst?

so the document is saying that I have to implement mstp on both sides (alcatel-cisco).
Unfortunately this is not an option, my customer cannot change the currently configured rapid-pvst on the core switches as they are already in production.
This is why I am looking for any hints in interoperability of cisco rapid-pvst and alcatel.

I am using the 6.1.3... I know it is quite old and does not support the pvst+ feature... 
But i cannot do an upgrade at the moment...
So i have to try cisco rapid-pvst with alcatel maybe mst... Has anyone tried?????
