Hi all,

I am a newbie in Alcatel-Lucent OS-6850. Right now, I have a problem, our customer switch (OS-6850) always reboot. Our customer just say that OS-6850 always reboot, they dont give us the LOG or anything. Since I dont have data or clue, from this problem and based on your experience, what happened to the switch? What should I do to troubleshoot that, does anyone can help me to solve this problem?

Hi Saeba,

Likely a task is crashing regularly.

Here is what you should ask the customer:
- Which AOS is running

Why wouldn't they give you the log files, how are you supposed to help if you don't have any details.

If they are not cooperating with you, just recommend them to upgrade to the latest AOS 6.4.3.R01 Maintenance Release (currently build 717).

From the log files that I shared to you, what is the problem to this switch, do you have any idea? I would ask you about "crash.pmd' file that shown up in Listing Directory / flash. Is it the one who make this problem?

Hi Saeba,

You should open a SR with Alcatel-Lucent, I assume you are a Business Partner.

They'll ask you for "minimum information" to open a case which will include the Crash.pmd.

From the AOS version, which is pretty old, I'd say that the issue is already solved in a later release. 6.4.2.807.R01 was the "GA" version of AOS 6.4.2.R01 and 6.4.3.717.R01 is the latest release.

Alcatel-Lucent support answer will likely be "upgrade".

I want to ask you again to you, on the switch, after a look at his logs, it appears that there is information on "bad SFP on ports 1 / 21 - 1 / 24 ". I wanted to ask whether there was an upgrade AOS problem is resolved? and why is there such a thing? This is the log :

Ask the customer for the output of

-> show ni
-> show module long

Once again: Please open a SR with Alcatel-Lucent, nobody here will be able to analyse the crash nor if the "issue" you're facing is solved with a later build.
