hello
i am facing a problem in a new installation and an expert advise would be helpful! Cisco access points are spread in a warehouse and we have installed several mobile iptouch phones 8118.The problem is that during the handover of the signal i have a gap during the conversation.I tried to play with QoS category but no joy.Does anyone knows if it is possible to reduce this gap and minimize the time of signal loss.
The values that i used is the following for QoS category are
Udp lost :60
Udp lost reinit :20
udp keep alive:20
The system is r9.1 binaries used for 8118 are 2.1.19 with no svp server installed.
Thanks!!

Re: 8118- cisco access points-4400
I think you must use SVP server with other wireless controllers than ALU.

Maybe I am blind (even though I read the document in a diagonal way), but I cannot see the line where it is specified that you can use this type of phones without SVP on a not Alcatel infrastructure.

Re: 8118- cisco access points-4400
in some point says
• Infrastructure compatibility:
• Alcatel-Lucent WiFi Infrastructure compatibility : AOS >= 3.3.3
• Cisco CCXv2 (applies to Cisco APs ONLY)
The new Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch™ WLAN handsets introduced now with the current Voice over WLAN solutions, are compatible with the following software versions:
• Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise R9.0 and higher
• Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch 8118/8128 Handsets 2.1.19 SW Version
• Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch 8118/8128 WinPDM 3.6.5 SW Version
• Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess WLAN 3.3.3 SW Version and higher
Wi-Fi Standard QoS (802.11e standard based QoS) and CCXv2 mode QoS are both supported by the OmniTouch™ 8118 and 8128 handsets. But the OmniTouch 8118/8128 does not support the SVP server QoS.
For existing installations or extensions of SVP server infrastructures with OmniTouch WLAN handsets, Business Partner must take in account that both QoS methods for SVP and Standards-Based WMM co-exist and requires specific and complex engineering rules.
Adding OmniTouch 8118 & 8128 WLAN Handsets on existing customer premises installed with MIPT 300/600 or IPT 310/610 with SVP server involves design rules that are not supported by Alcatel-Lucent. In such cases, Alcatel-Lucent strongly advices the removal of the SVP server.

Re: 8118- cisco access points-4400
Oh sorry, my diagonal was too big. Sorry no idea about your problem.
Off topic:
So ALU released another very good solution --> I am thinking about my existing VoWlan customers and future upgrades. On the release notes of 8118/8128 they said that they are backward compatible. After reading this I am not so sure.
Specific: I have a client with Motorola infrastructure (controller and APs) with some 25 610's. If he asks for another 2 phones I must offer the new range. How can I remove the SVP servers? I cannot. Should I tell the customer that he has to change the existing infrastructure in order to use 2 additional phones?

Re: 8118- cisco access points-4400
If he wants only 2 i suggest to buy IPT 610 again. But if he has money to change them all is an other story
I read in the doc that there is some limitation about fast hand over..but i am sure somehow there is a way to configure if there is low signal the device will search an other access point to connect. But in not sure if i can do it through the pbx or the access points.
