Hi All

I am a fairly green telecoms tech just starting with Alcatel OmniPCX systems. We are installing an OmniPCX Office into a school. Customer would like to lock 4019 & 4029 handsets from making internal or external calls unless a PIN or password is provided. I tried locking the handset through the menus on the handset itself, but that appeared to do nothing ? I could still make internal calls.

I also want to be able to route calls made to the system when it is in Restricted and when there is an attendant diversion to a voicemail box other than the general mailbox. I have used the accepted method to create a voicemail box for a hunt group and then used that huntgroup in dynamic routing, but calls do not end up at the mailbox, the huntgroup just keeps ringing.

Could anyone assist with this ?

If anyone also has a link to a plain english step by step guide to call barring I'd appreciate it as well.

Try using account codes, works like you want.

Enter accountcode prefix, enter extention who CAN dial out, dial pincode of this extension and YES dialtone ;-)

Thanks Henk1964. When you say enter the pin code of the extension, is that the same as the password that the user sets up on their voicemail, or is it something else ?
