Portfast auto prevent loops and topology changes?

Hello,
We had a topology change issue at one customer .
we solved this problem with "spaning tree portfast" on 6200s and restricted-tcn enable on 9700.
But there are some switches connected to 6200s , not to 9700;
9700 ----> 6200 ----> 6200 ----> PC
At this customer , cabling is not good and anybody can cause a loop.
Can i use "spanning tree portfast auto" instead of "spanning tree portfast" for uplink port between 6200s?
Is it better protection to loops than "spanning tree portfast"? I know that after a time, switch disable portfast when there is a loop but untill this time, network is effected.
What about topology changes? can "spanning tree portfast auto" prevent topology changes when there is port flapping?
