Echo coming from remote shelf

Post by mustafa.ahmad »

Hi,

The scenario is that we have one remote shelf connected thru INTIP card, which is using modem to connect to main shelf.

Now whenever anyone from remote calls, there is echo during conversation.

echo elimination deep depends on OXE release, don't remember exactly, but it was increased from some 32ms till 128ms. You need to check Your OXE release,patch with docs.

Hi OXE-4400,

it is R8. 0 ,G150138 .
Is there any parameter where we can modify to get the desired echo elimination...

It depends on subcard.
TC1018-ed03:
The echo delay can no more be managed. It is set automatically according to the hardware used:
• GIP6-GIP6A-MCV8-MCV24 board: the echo delay is limited to 32 ms.
• GIP4-1/GIP4-4/MADA-1/MADA-3 board: the echo delay is limited to 128 ms.

Run "compvisu sys" command to check and you'll get something like this

+==============================================================================+
C O M P V I S U
+==============================================================================+
Inter-node protocol H323....... yes
RTP Direct..................... yes
RTP Direct for H323 terminals.. no
Fast Start..................... yes
VAD (Voice Activity Detection):
- G723/G729...... yes
- G711........... no
ECE (Echo Canceller)........... yes
- LIO/LIOE........ 16 ms
| - INTIP/GA/GD..... 128 ms
|
So who does experience an echo - everybody on remote shelves being called or persons called by extensions from the remote shelf?
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

See no sense right now.
Do you have different types of extensions - analog, UA, IP?
Is there echo on conversations with all of types os sbs?
