door controller connected to a Z port?

I have a Viking door controller and have a Z port connected. When you press the door box it auto dials a number of digital phones. The users should be able to hit ** to release the door lock, but when they hit * it is accessing the second line. Any way around this?

As the user releasing the door is clearly on a digital/IP set before pressing ** to release the door they must first dial the prefix code to first put the phone into send DTMF mode. What I have done to make it easier for the users where I have this thing is set up a speed dial that puts in the send DTMF code (which will be unique to your site) plus the door release code.
