Why run Redhat dvd on appliance servers?
What OS do you use on the pc with PC Installer?
Since I use Windows 7, I'm not able to load anything with PC Installer.
I'm using a second pc with Windows XP to load new servers......

Hi freedom, using Redhat DVD was a 'lets try anything now' approach.

I am using VMWare running a XP - SP2 machine inside, it works great. Just not with these guys!!! I am stuffed as to how it can start and then stop when it starts to create the Linux.ram folder???? Is there a doc somewhere on getting these things going, have looked but cant see any???

Kon, there is no serial port on an appliance server?

How would i do this?

I have DB9 to USB adaptors but they would need drivers loaded on a running machine using windows?

If your pc doesn't have a com-port, you need the usb to DB9 convertor. I guess this needs drivers on Windows before it will work.
There is a com-port on the appliance server where you can connect your pc to.
If you then use a communication program like Hyperterminal on 9600, you should get some info on your screen.

Normally you will get a question on your screen if you want to enable high security.

Hi Freedom...

The solution that you gave with the serial cabling is what I was referring too. I now have the same problem as reported on the first line, software just stops loading saying, cant install part 2 and requests FTP server address and directory for the software. Any ideas anyone how to get past this?

Thanks
Pedro

Check ../PC Installer/var/log/syslog.txt
Locked

Return to “Media Gateway”
