How to set PRA-T2 board (PRI Board) as Master using DSS1 protocol?

Hello All,

My current setup is the following:

Alcatel OXO with 3 PRA-T2 cards, one of them is connected to the PSTN and is used to received calls from the outside world and send calls from the OXO telephones.

We purchased the other two PRA-T2 boards to connect to an external equipment (a dialer). The dialer can not be set as master and it always operates as slave. It basically cannot provide any clock.

The two links are phisically up but the D-Channel does not come up. We believe that this is basically because both sides are set as slave.

The important fact here is that both sides (OXO and dialer equipment) are configured with net5 protocol as unfortunately, using QSIG protocol is not an option due to economical reasons.

Our Alcatel supplier keeps saying that the OXO PRA-T2 boards can not be configured as master when using DSS1/net5 protocol. If this is true, the links will never come up.

The questions are:

-Is it true that the PRA-T2 cards can not be configured as master/provide clock in DSS1 configuration?
-Can the two PRA-T2 boards that we purchased to connect to the external equipment be configured as Master and keep using the third one (connected to the PSTN) as slave?
-Is there any middleware equipment that we could use to provide the clock and connect both the OXO and the dialer?
-Any other ideas (remember that we can“t use QSIG or VoIP configurations, we have to use what we have today).

Thanks in advance for your support.

Hello

DSS1 is the protocol used for connection to ISDN network so your PRA-T2 is slave (TE mode) and the NT1 is master (NT mode)

If you want to interconnect two systems, you will have to use the PRA-T2 in DLT2 mode (and there is a strap on the card to weld). After you can choose if your card is master or slave.
