Can someone please explain me the flowing problem?

we have 2 shelfs, all analog extensions ringing in shelf 2, but all analog extensions in shelf 3 not ringing.
we have replaced the cards. when we insert not ringing card in shelf 2 it's ringing, again when insert same card in shelf 3 it's not ringing.

highly appreciate your suggestion.

HI, what springs to mind is the ringing power rail. have you replaced the power supply on the shelf 3? otherwise it could be the backpannel.

1. connect through serial in the gd and ga boards and and see if there is any incident.
2.they don't ring in all shelf's or in the same shelf ring normally ?
3 .telephone facility allows to ring?
4.cards are in service?if yes try outserv and inserv commands one by one.
5.try rstclp
6.there is a possibility that the back plane or converter of the shelf is damaged.
7.if u put for example ua card are they ringing?

the configuration of your system is made by Actis?

I had the exact same problem a year ago. SLI in shelf 13 would not ring phone but you could pickup and answer if you new when the call was coming in. I moved board to shellf 12 and it worked perfectly. I re flashed the GD in shelf 12 but still would not work. I installed a new shelf 13 and same board worked perfectly. Bad shelf.

So when you pick the handset up do you get speech?

If you have problem with ring - I think you have problem with power supply in the shelf (absent 100V for ring injector).

Murraya, no power supply in these shelf, this is -48 DC power .

Konstantinos.E, I have check all your points looks fine and all UA sets ring perfectly. Yes. This system configure by Actis.

JoelO, at the moment we don’t have new shelf, so we will try to get another shelf.

Oldboy, yes, Oldboy set is not ringing but we pickup the handset we can speak with caller party.

Vad, as I mansions before 2 shelf running with -48 Walt DC with mail rectifier.

Hi, the 48V racks still have power componats to drive the varios voltages required i.e. the ring voltage so it really sounds like a rack issue.

we cant open the shelf coz it's under warranty, so you mean it is shelf back board faulty right?
