Has anyone completed an upgrade of a 4635 VM system?

I have a doc from Alcatel that goes through the procedure, although two of the steps are confusing:

7) Modify the bootptab file in order to fill the parameter HOSTNAME_PREFIX with the A4635 name managed in the above
item 5.
Example
HOSTNAME_PREFIX=a4635:\

Modify the bootptab file in order to fill the parameter FIRST_FREE_IP_ADDR with the A4635 IP address name
managed in the above item 5.
Example
FIRST_FREE_IP_ADDR=10.10.10.20:


Are these the bootp files on the PC server, VM card or the 4400???

The bootptab is on your laptop.
Usually, it is in your c:/etc/ directory, once you install the bootpd / ftpd on it (from alcatel) so you can upload release previous to 5.0 (not using the pc install) and the voicemail

there should be an installation procedure delivered in the s/w. It should explain all the steps required, as Frank saya, it is different to the Lx & uses another method to install. It is basically a bootp/tftp/rcatd program that runs on a win pc to install the files for the 4635.

if you have software cd-rom for 4635, complete documentation can be found there... file name install.pdf. example of bootptab file, that always work:

just put content of cd-rom in folder c:\a4635 set ip-addres for 4635 and start bootpd
