Question about QOS rules in 6850

Post by rjmeredeth »

Can anyone tell me the difference between the active and enforcing columns in rule statistics under policies. All of my rules are active but not enforcing. Also my matches and packet count columns show a number followed by a zero in parenthesis. I assume the first number is the number of matched packets, but i have no idea what the zero is. I feel I'm probably missing something elemental, but i can't figure out what it is.

Name | Enabled | Matches | Enforced |Active | Count Type | Packet Count | Byte Count |Excess Packet Count | Excess Byte Count
rule1 | Yes |9773384 (0) | No | Yes | Packets | 9773384 (0) | 0 | 0 | 0

Thanks!

can you put complete output with command you use

did you make a "qos apply" after rule config

only after qos apply is the rule enforced by the switch

actually, I configured the rules with Policyview QOS in Omnivista. I'll try a qos apply and see if that changes anything.

Thanks!

This is the screen I had a question about. It's under Policy -> Statistics -> Rules. It may be perfectly normal. I've just started playing around with policyview, so i'm not sure what the stats page should look like.

hello

after some tests it seems that your rule is active and working.
Don't care about enforced value

(0) in matche, don't care about it, the other value is important about packet match.
