GD shelf position

Hi,

I recieved a new OXE from Alcatel and GD board is declared in shelf 2.

Normally GD are declared in shelf 1. Do you know if it's possible to delete this board and to re-create it in the shelf 1 ?

New Actis always will now put the shelf in position 2. Have checked with ALU

Okay I found the solution by myself.

I created the shelf 1 and then I modified the crystal value of the GD directly in mgconfig. Like that, I was able to remove the shelf 2 and to load my configuration.

As you noticed, it is possible to change the GD to shelf 1, but these days a new OXE will always start with physical shelf 2.
Since R9 you need a virtual shelf for IP-phones.
Because shelf 1 is available, the system will automatically create virtual shelf 1 as soon as you create your first ip-user.

When you change your GD to shelf 1, the first free shelf will be 2.
The OXE will use this free shelf for the virtual shelf.
As soon as you want to expand your OXE with e.g. an extra shelf, the shelf numbers will not be very logical.

So my advice would be: keep the GD in shelf 2 and just start configuring.

this shelf numbering starting at 2 has been around even since release 8 !
