Alcatel-Lucent - What they say about their product: wrote:The OmniSwitch 7700 and 7800 are intelligent, multi-layer switching platforms that are optimized for voice and data integration and provide non-blocking multi-Gigabit Ethernet capacity, intelligent switching, and routing services - all at wire speed.

These platforms were part of Alcatel-Lucent’s second-generation OmniSwitch 6600 / 7000 / 8000 product family, designed for IP Communications and mission-critical environments. The OmniSwitch 7000 series delivers high availability features and performance with simplified management for a wide range of enterprise environments.

The product is EoS / EoL (End-of-Sales / End-of-Life) therefore it was removed from the official Alcatel-Lucent web site.
I recommend to look into the OS9000 (1G/10G L2/L3 switch), the OS9000E (1G/10G L2/L3 switch MPLS/VPLS/VRF capable) or as a low-cost alternative a stacked variant of the OS6850 (1G/10G L2/L3 stackable switch).
