Vad - you were correct. I was disconnecting PC Installer too soon.
The GA does a bootp and flashes once then reboots, then another bootp and loads Linux and comes into service. I was disconnecting PC Installer after the first reboot so linux was not being loaded into flash.
Knight was correct in that the GA does get the IP address from the backplane.
