Install from standard DVD drive.
What has helped: uninstall and restart some windows parts / services. Uninstall hp advanced drivers & control utils for HP array (ACU), etc...
But it's not a good thing to guess why this happens.
What did you mean by 'a ghost state of port 389 is used: reinstall windows, i neither get any other means to get rid of such issue except by a reinstall' ?
(new OV uses LDAP + SecureLDAP so, uses two ports)

It may also be worth checking if DEP is turned on on the Windows 2K3 box - i have had a problem where the customer configured DEP to restrict 3rd party applications and it prevented the SLAPD process from starting.

if you have windows firewall we can stop it during installation
but for any ither we cannt know in 4760 setup the command line to stop it
hence firewall must be closed during install

this is linked to an outgoing action to internet while instlling our DB

take care that
if 4760 etehrent cable is not plugged
windows can decide to remove the ethernet interface and this cause install issue

whatever the root cause the file of sun one directroy setuo is required

Hi,

How do you try to install the 4760 software? locally or using a remote desktop?

Is Netscape really the same thing as Firefox? I have both browsers and I can't really tell much difference between the two. However, I think I like Netscape better.

Why is Netscape the only browser my computer will use? Have the netscape people put something into the program that stops your computer for using another browser? Whenever I turn on IE, firefox, safari or opera, the computer refuses to connect to the internet. Is this the only way that netscape can survive?
