sure you didn't reboot :)
I have always found it best to make sure the PC is connected to the network before starting the installer so that the NIC is up as I have had issues in the past when I run the installer then connect the NIC.

Everything mentioned was done, a lot of PC restarts, different versions. I have opened SR.
I am going to buy new faster HDD and reinstall PC...
Will try to install PC installer version 2.26, it should appear with R9.1 patch 13.

I have the same problem , i think the problem is from installer at R 9.1 ,because with the old release ( 9.0 ) working Fine .
for others you can try to install new PC Installer from release 9.1 ( i160512) ,and you will know the real problem, you cannot uninstall it.
Please let us know if some one have solve this problem ?

Thanks

Strange. I did a couple of times install/uninstall of 2.25-pre when was playing with my new HP 6730b notebook and Windows 7 Pro x86.
There were no problem at all. Of course you should switch off Windows firewall to load SW but except that everything was OK.

So I think it is PC HW+OS setup specific problem.

ALU support provided solution for problem. It was changed value in registry HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation to 1.
It should be 0. Changed back, uninstalled PC installer, restarted PC, installed even newest 2.26 version and everything OK.

I tried installing the PC installer 2.22, 2.24, and even 2.26. when I double click on the set up shortcut nothing happens. It was working fine when I had 2.11 but because I need it now I UN-installed 2.11 to install 2.26, now my PC is not allowing me to install the PC installer software. Any ideas???
