Oxo with YEALINK restarts ramdomly

Post by dvid9976 »

Hi all

have any of you experienced an oxo restaring randomly due to IP traffic from YEALINK sip phones?

we have an OXO which started to restart randomly (but very frecuently) when connected to the LAN, but stays stable when the LAN cable is connected and SIP Phones registered.

Opened a SR, which seems have been moved to R&D, so I don't expect a quick response.

thank you in advance

Hi

I don't believe sip phones are the reason of the resets you are facing.
Traces of reset cause? OXO release/version?

Best regards.

I have tried to get traces via TCPDUMP but when the pbx resets, the file is no longer usable; anyway, I cannot find on the traces any traffic but typical sip signalling + RTP and some ICMPs that the customer's hypervisor uses to check connectivity.

The pbx has been working for 1,5 years running 10.1.

When it started to restart, we upgraded to 10.3.31 but this did not fix the issue.
Then we replaced the PowerCPU, problem remained.
Replaced cabinet, problem remained
Reconfigured the whole pbx, problem remained
Disconnected the LAN cable, and resets stopped.
Connected the lan cable, but got the switch port configured on a different VLAN than the SIP Phones, and resets did not happen.
Connected the PBX to the YEALINKs VLAN, and a reset happened after 2 minutes.

Weird, isn't it?

I will upload the tcpdump tomorrow

thank you

David.

Hi

I am sorry, but when I mentioned traces I didn't express the right way. I would like to see debug and log files to check the reset cause.
Open a browser and type https://OXO_IP_ADDRESS/services/webapp and go to system --> dump system. Dowload debug and log files and post it here.
Let's check the reset cause.

Best regards.

Hi

I can see on the reset.log you have many resets with the process 1395:

Sat Mar 4 18:53:22 2017 process.c 1395 3 Albator: process exit abnormally
Sat Mar 4 19:19:12 2017 process.c 1395 3 Albator: process exit abnormally
Sat Mar 4 20:10:22 2017 process.c 1395 3 Albator: process exit abnormally
Sat Mar 4 20:22:18 2017 process.c 1395 3 Albator: process exit abnormally
Mon Mar 6 11:36:35 2017 process.c 1395 3 Albator: process exit abnormally
Mon Mar 6 11:43:25 2017 process.c 1395 3 Albator: process exit abnormally
Mon Mar 6 11:52:21 2017 process.c 1395 3 Albator: process exit abnormally
Mon Mar 6 12:04:26 2017 process.c 1395 3 Albator: process exit abnormally

Well, I don't have information about it, but I understand this is not a situation you can solve by yourself by changing boards or configuring system from the scratch. It is a software problem. As you have already opened a SR with ALU and it has been moved to R&D, you must wait for their analisys of the situation.

Best regards.

Hello.

My name is Ruben Savia and I am facing same problem as you but with other configuration.

Oxo is running R10.3.032. It is connected to 16 SIP softphones and restarts every day.

Have you solved your problem? How?.
I will appreciate your help.
Regards.

Hi RSavia,

Theres' is a well known bug with PBX resets on that Alcatel software release.
They already released a new patch especially for that: R10.3/036.001.
This Patch fixes the following issues:
- Issues with offset 59th of the Noteworthy flag “Voipnwaddr
- Unexpected PCX reset
- Security enhancement (clickjacking vulnerability)
- BT (UK): SIP OPTION packet format
- No audio in blind transfer between OXO and OXE
- Outgoing calls via speed dialing send wrong SIP Account credentials
- Issues with G711A Silence Suppression (59th offset of Voipnwadrr)

I'd try to update your PBX to the new release, you can find it on the Alcatel partner portal.

Good Luck,
Greets,
Koen
