Hi,
we have connected 3 Networks by VPN. Two alcatel ip touch 4039 are sucessfully connected to the network where the main Alcatel omnipcx device is.
So far, everything works very fine. The IP telephones are reachable by their numbers an can call out, that means using them works, calling in and out.
Furthermore calling an IP phone from a wired phone in the system works fine in both directions.
Main network where the omnipcx is: 192.168.1.0 with the ip: 192.168.1.200.
First external network: 192.168.178.0 with the phone ip: 192.168.178.248
Second external network: 192.168.177.0 with the phone ip: 192.168.177.248.
Configuration example for ip telefone one:
IP: 192.168.178.248
DNS: 192.168.178.1 (because ist in this network).
TFTP: 192.168.1.200 (network where the onmipcx is)
All is working very well until the two ip phones try to phone to each other - that means from one external network to another.
The other ip telephone is "there" and reachable, ist rings, but when the other person takes the call, we cannot "hear each other". Silance.
Does anyone know, what the issue here is?
Thank you, Marc
Ip touch 4039 cannot hear each other
Re: Ip touch 4039 cannot hear each other
hi, when the phones connect the rtp will be direct between them. 1st check that ip routes and firewalls allow traffic between the to remote networks.

Re: Ip touch 4039 cannot hear each other
Does that mean the two phone musst be "ping"-able in every network? Marc

Re: Ip touch 4039 cannot hear each other
Every network that has an IP Phone...obviously...
Re: Ip touch 4039 cannot hear each other
For signaling (dialing, screen display) - you use IP flow CS-IP set.
For voice (RTP) - you use IP flow - IP set-IP set

Re: Ip touch 4039 cannot hear each other
No...in your network.
An IP set should be able to "ping" to OXE Call Server
When call is established, the IP Set should be able to talk to the other IP Set network...
How do you expect RTP traffic to reach another subnetwork the IP Set doesn't have access to?

hi
ipset has owner embeded codecs it doesn't use gd/intip to talk to an ipset in this case direct flow or direct realtime prtocol is used
