One way speech -OXE

Post by gmmbuyisa »

Hi,
I cant find an exact problem match on the forum. The issue is one way speech between IP phones in different networks. I am on the OXE side (INTIP), i hear the caller but he cannot hear me.
Calls to the remote extension from analogue or digital have no problem. When i call other IP phones on the same network, no problem (system side).
Cisco routers are used for routing calls and i have 3 remote sites with the same problem. The licenses indicate 0/141 (G729) -non is used, could this be the problem? If yes where do i change the default CODEC to G729?

You need to check network settings.
In your network (LAN/WAN) must be allowed RTP traffic IP set-IP set (in both directions).

Thanks Vad for your input but it is so vague. Where do i set the RTP traffic to be bi-directional?

F.e. in routers access lists, I do not know your topology, access rules...
For me - one way speach - or RTP trafic from one subnet (IP address) forbiden, or used wrong routing.

In this case I do next:
- connect two PC instead of IP phones and check with ping.
- if ping Ok - use softphone (Netmeeting, X-Lite, ..) for RTP flow checking.
