I don't think you can stack 5 6250-P48. As one 6259P48 is already a stack of two 6250-P24. Stacks of 16 units are planned for the future, but afaik not in 6.6.3.

So cuurently just 8 Units (4*6250-P48) are possible.

Stacking is easy, i'd go with booting the units up first and set their slotnumber "stack set slot 1 saved-slot X" (where X is the number it should get in the stack.
Power down and place in rack. Connect the hdmi cables (Stack cables)
Unit 1 Port A -> Unit 2 Port B
Unit 2 Port A -> Unit 3 Port B
..
..
Unit 8 Port A ->Unit 1 Port B

Power everything up and it should work.

Thanks for reply sir, but you mean that 6250P48 as a 1 unit only, but in the document that OS6250 have a 24 ports.

When 6250P48 as a 1 unit how do we stack the 4 6250P48?

Regards,
Vic

This is new for me (6250) and I don't have any idea on how to stack this switch.

I have an example diagram and please correct me if i'm wrong. I have an 8 6250 (let it say BOS6250-P48) equivalent to 4 6250P48 can you check my diagram.

A 6250-P48 is a bundle consisting of 2*6250-P24 with mounting kit preinstalled at the matching sides - i think single switches all have it on one side which reqiures a lot of removing screws aso.. So its just a bit less hassle and the overall package is smaller compared to single P24.

You should check the prices for 6450-P48 which are not too much more expensive than the 6250 if i remember right.. you get Gig ports, more stacking bandwidth, 10Gig option aso..

Your diagram should do fine, but you missed links for switch 6..
If unsure consult the 6250 Hardware guide it's all explained in chapter 6 there.

I'd recommend a firmware upgrade once the stack is established to the latest 6.6.3 (should be build 470) as the GA had some issues at least on 6450.

Hello Sir Devnull,

I appreciate your explanation and advice and sorry for my diagram it is my mistake :)
Your diagram should do fine, but you missed links for switch 6..
So I have no fear for installing a stack but be sure to follow the instruction manual for 6250.

Thanks and regard.
