I have a 4135 conference phone running SIP. It can do everything except receive incoming calls from external sources. If the call is from an internal ext. it works and it can even be transferred from one ext. to the 4135. However, when an external call is made, either directly to the extension or by being transferred from the attendant it hangs up the instant the connection is made. Also, it only rings once from an external call whether direct or transferred.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: 4135 SIP phone unable to receive from external
Codecs used? Intra domain, extra domain compression? Compressors active?

Re: 4135 SIP phone unable to receive from external
I believe that the codecs that are being used are G729. That is what is set on the phone and in the system. I'm a noob, so I'm not sure how to determine whether this is intra domain, extra domain or both. I assume that it is both because I can call out. I searched for the commands to determine whether the compressors are active. I assume that they must be active because I can call out, but I couldn't find a command to tell me so I can't tell you if they are or not. I'm sorry for my lack of information but I'm just learning this system.

Finally got an answer from Alcatel. The problem was with the encoding in the IP>IP Domain. Once Intra-domain and Extra-domain coding algorithim were both set to "without compression" the device worked fine.
